Ride Recap: Another fun evening outing, this time at a location we’ve only done once a couple of years ago.
10 machines out including 4 new faces, great to have you along for the ride!
Not all club rides are going to be night rides, but it sure is nice being able to squeak a ride in after work!
Checking out Mt Ida with an after work ride. Make sure you’re headlights are working as we’ll be out for a couple of hours and will be getting close to dark, or in the dark when we finish up.
If you want to join the convoy from Vernon we’ll be leaving the parking lot by the Tim Horton’s on 58th Avenue at 5:10pm.
Directions to staging area:
- From Vernon: head north on Hwy 97A, after Enderby take the 97C intersection toward Salmon Arm. Turn left on Deep Creek Road and drive 3.5kms where you turn right onto the Forest Service Road, drive 500m up the hill to the T in the road and look for a parking spot alongside the road.
- From Armstrong: head West on Wood Avenue across the tracks and continue on Salmon River Road, look for the intersection where you turn right onto Knob Hill Road. Knob Hill Road turns into Deep Creek Road when it crosses Hullcar Road, continue 11kms to the Forest Service Road on your left then drive 500m up the hill to the T in the road and look for a parking spot alongside the road.
- From Salmon Arm: take Hwy 1 East from town, turn right onto Hwy 97C and continue 10km where you turn right onto Deep Creek Road. Drive 3.5kms where you turn right onto the Forest Service Road, drive 500m up the hill to the T in the road and look for a parking spot alongside the road.
Rides are open to everyone, we encourage new riders to come out for a couple of rides to meet club members, find new trails and get a sense of the club before joining.
The Vernon ATV Club promotes responsible all terrain vehicle use. Riders must must carry their driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of $200,000 liability insurance for riding on forest service roads. Quad riders must wear a helmet, side x side riders aren’t required by law to wear helmets but we recommend they do.
