Road Trip to Barriere Ride

Ride Report & Photos
Daniel Raitt and his dad Warren spent the days before the ride brushing and flagging the route and it showed, we didn’t have to stop once to cut downed trees and the ride flowed smoothly across the amazingly diverse terrain throughout the day. From flowy old roads to technical trails through the forest, rock crawling in dry creekbeds, slip sliding on snowy roads and the runout on fall coloured tree lined trails, the ride had smiles on faces all day (except when faces were too frozen to smile).

Thanks Team Raitt, excellent ride!

It’s road trip time, Daniel will be home from BCIT for Thanksgiving and offered to take us out for a ride. The plan is to be ready to ride at 10:00am Saturday, October 7 in Barriere.

We’ll carpool and convoy from Vernon to Barriere, it takes roughly 2 hours to get there so we’ll be leaving Vernon 7:00-7:30am

Email [email protected] or message on Facebook if you would like to go but need a ride, there is truck and trailer space for other riders wanting to hop in.

Noble Canyon – A Bridge Too Far Ride

Ride Recap
Another strong turnout of new riders and familiar faces. Merv and Ron came all the way from Okanagan Falls, thanks guys we hope you enjoyed the ride! Thanks Steve for taking photos each ride.

If you missed the ride you can download a GPX track then go try the trails yourself.

Starting at 10:00am Sunday at the bottom of Noble Canyon Road, this ride will wind us up through the trails and past the lakes in the area then east beyond the edge of Silver Star park.

A mixture of FSR, old roads and trails and a small amount of more technical trail. Come prepared for all conditions as we’re into the fall riding season. Bring a camera as there are views over the Coldstream and Lumby valleys from the hang glider launches along the route.

Rides are open to club members, friends, guests and anyone interested in joining us for a ride. All ability levels are welcome, if you encounter a section of trail above your comfort level we’ll help you through or find a way around it.

Unload at the cattle guard 400m up Noble Canyon Rd then park your vehicle alongside the road back toward the highway, no parking in the cattle guard and turn around area as we need to keep this open for unloadinghttps://goo.gl/maps/8uAbwfsRCEF2

Early King Eddy Ride

Ride Photos & Video – a big turnout of 22 riders on 19 machines. The off-road skills park at Grizzly Lake is up and running and being used by families, great to see kids out learning to ride in a safe area!

Starting at the bottom of King Eddy Road at 9:00am Sunday, September 24 this ride is planned to head further east and south than most club rides so that’s why the 9:00am start. Come prepared for fall conditions and campfires aren’t allowed so bring a lunch you can have without a fire.

Rides are open to everyone so if you or a friend aren’t members just show up. We have a safety meeting at the start of each ride and will stop to help you through or around anything encountered along the way.

Remember to think safety, everyone has been off for a few months so some people will be a little excited out there. Combine that will all the traffic from bikes and quads to trucks and hunters, be alert and ride safe!

The Ban is Lifted!

As of noon on September 20, 2017 the off-road prohibition is lifted across the province except for specific areas around active wildfires. To see a list of area closures visit the BC Wildfire website.

There will be rides this weekend, likely a few rides for you to choose from as everyone wants to get out again. Watch for ride announcements in the next couple of days and let us know where you’re riding or would like to ride this weekend.
