The 10th Annual 3 Valley Gap GPS Ride takes place Saturday July 8 & Sunday July 9. This is a poker ride with a twist, you draw sets of coordinates then have to use your GPS to go find them and record the number on the tag for it to count toward your poker hand.

Canada 150 Celebrations in Polson Park
Canada Day 150 Recap
What a day! It was hot and sunny and Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations had brought out large crowds. Attendees had a great selection of things to see and do, the freestyle motocross was the largest draw when it ran twice during the day but our barrel train was a close second in popularity as evidence by the lineups from before 10:00am until after 4:30pm. We estimate 800-900 people took a barrel train ride during the day!
BDM Motorsports brought a pair of Polaris General 1000s out to pull the train and they were the perfect choice as they had power to pull, turf mode for driving on grass, the second seat allowed for a co-driver to watch over the train and the pickup box was used by parents wanting to ride along to capture video of their kids on the ride.
Banner Recreation came with an Outlander XMR, a pair of SeaDoos and a little street legal Kawasaki motorcycle that attracted lots of attention.
A huge thanks to all the club members that came out to set up, take down and soldiered through the heat all day (including the two drivers who drove the entire day without a break).
Help the Vernon ATV Club spread the good word on all terrain vehicle use. You can help in the following ways:
- Be a greeter in our booth during the day. Any time you can contribute helps, 1 hour or all day, it’s up to you!
- Bring your machine for display, the park gates are closed to vehicle traffic from 9:00am to 4:00pm so drop off and pickup are before and after those times.
- Drive the kiddie train! Hop in one of the new side x sides from local dealers and take kids on a tour of Polson Park.

Ride with KATV at Postill
We’re meeting up with the Kelowna ATV Club again, this time at the old gravel pit on Postill Lake Road (Google Directions) ready to ride at 9:30am.

Ride with Salmon Arm at Skimikin

Salmon Arm club and the Walker family do it again, another great ride! The Skimikin trails have seen an awful lot of water this year and then add on some recent windstorms and there was a lot of chainsawing and turning around when we ran into impassable walls of rubble left behind by the raging torrents.
Starting in the soggy valley bottom we soon climbed high into the mountains and did a tour of all the strategically located communication towers and the network of roads and trails connecting them. On the way down we passed washed out roads and bridges before we dropped into an old cedar forest with such a dense canopy you almost needed your headlights. We also encountered critters and flowers in bloom on the ride.
After returning to the parking lot the group patiently waited on the slow bbq while they were attacked by the swarms of mosquitoes. Great fun, we look forward to riding Skimikin again soon and hopefully getting a work day to help clear the trails of blowdown.
Rides with the Salmon Arm club never disappoint and this won’t be any exception, Skimikin is a great riding area! This ride starts at 10:00am at Skimikin Lake at the parking lot east of Skimikin Lake (Google directions).

For riders travelling from Vernon we’re going to meet at the Tim Horton’s parking lot on 58th Avenue, the convoy leaves there at 8:30am so we’re ready for the 10:00am ride start.
As with all ATV Club rides, everyone is welcome whether you’re a club member or not so invite your friends, family and neighbours. The ride is planned for between 50-90kms in length, with terrain varying from ATV trails, old skid road to forest service road. We try to accommodate riders of all skill levels which means stopping to help if we encounter a difficult portion of trail.
Lumby Days Parade
Lumby Days Parade Report – a great turnout of both parade entries and people out to watch. A really fun event to participate in just for the joy of watching little kids react when you wave to them, most would start waving back like crazy… until their hands shot to cover their ears when the tow truck behind us would sound his train horn and scare the crap out of them.
Join the club as we ride the streets of Lumby in the Lumby Days Parade Saturday, June 10. Meet at the industrial park east of Lumby at 9:30am to assemble and decorate, the parade rolls at 11:00am and should wrap up around 12:30pm.
