CANADA DAY 2019 Help Needed

The ATV Club is part of Canada Day festivities in Polson Park for the fourth year. Last year was our second year with the kiddie train and again it was a hit with over 1,000 going for a ride.

Rides start at 10:00am and go to 4:00pm, we arrive at 8:00am to set up and are usually done and ready to leave by 5:00pm.

To make this year another success we need people to help with:

  • Morning set up of tents, tables, carts
  • Organizing riders into the carts
  • Driving the vehicles pulling the kiddie carts
  • Providing info to people visiting the club display
  • Take down and load out at the end of the day

Use the form below to let us know how you can help make 2019 a success.

Longest Day BBQ & Ride

5:30pm Saturday June 22

Each year around this time we fire up the barbie and go for an evening ride to enjoy the long hours of sunshine.

The BBQ will be going at 5:30pm at the parking lot at King Eddy Road. Cost is $5 per person, let us know how many people are coming by 5:00pm Friday June 21 using the form below or email [email protected].

The ride will head out at 6:30pm and be back by 9:30/10:00pm but we’ll also have an option for those interested in staying out another hour or two to test their headlights.

You’re welcome to come to the ride if you can’t make the BBQ, or vice versa, pop by the BBQ and skip the ride.

Rides and events are open to everyone, we encourage new riders to come out for a couple of rides to meet club members, find new trails and get a sense of the club before joining.

The Vernon ATV Club promotes responsible all terrain vehicle use. Riders must must carry their driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of $200,000 liability insurance for riding on forest service roads. Quad riders must wear a helmet, side x side riders aren’t required by law to wear helmets but we recommend they do.

Irish Creek Count the Mosquitos Ride

10:00am Sunday June 9

Ride Recap: Was a tight trail ride with foliage hanging over us for most of it like a tunnel, mosquitoes were tolerable but the size of bees, hardly any dust because of the rain, visited 3 lakes, Pinaus Lake, Square Lake, Churchill Lake, 11 units and 14 people. Perfect day, perfect ride.Ride Recap:

We’re meeting at Tim Horton’s by Walmart at 9:00am then leaving for Irish Creek at 9:30am, ride starts at 10:00am.

This is going to be a slower ride to wander around, take in the sights, check trail conditions and count the mosquitos (they’re our there, come prepared!).
