Longest Day Ride

5:00pm Saturday June 20 – Location TBD

The club rides on or around the longest day of the year each year because it’s fun being able to ride late into the evening without needing your headlights. And to make the ride that little bit better the club provides supper.

We don’t know where the ride will be yet this year so you’re going to have to sign up and find out.

Registration Deadline – 5:00pm Thursday June 18
Email info@vernonatvclub.ca to let us know you’re coming. We’ll publish the ride location next week on facebook and via the weekly email.

Ladies Ride

10:00am Sunday May 31 – Noble Canyon

Back by popular demand, this ride for ladies explores the trails and scenic viewpoints, features a fabulous charcuterie lunch and a special craft activity.

This ride is open to ladies riding/driving a machine or riding along as a passenger.

The goal is to be ready to ride at 10:00am, the leisurely loop will take in as many views and points of interest as possible before arriving at the lunch spot.

The registration deadline is 5:00pm Friday May 29 – email christian@vernonatvclub.ca or message 250-938-2228 to register, if you have any dietary restrictions or questions regarding the ride. Can’t wait to see you all!

DIRECTIONS TO NOBLE CANYON
Approximately 17km east of Vernon on Highway 6, turn left onto Noble Canyon Road and continue 400m to the cattleguard where there is a cul-de-sac to turn around and unload your machine. Once unloaded you can park your vehicle along the road between the highway and the cattleguard.
NOTE: this is a residential road, do not block driveways, riding ATVs on the portion of road between the highway and cattleguard is not allowed.

King Eddy Ride Recap

Perfect spring conditions for the first ride at King Eddy for 2026. Sunshine, warm weather, some puddles to splash in and a bit of snow on the trails.

The club brought 2 ride leaders so we were able to split into a fast group (14 machines) and slow group (6 machines). It was great to see all the familiar faces, so many new riders and youth riders on there own machines or tucked away in side x sides!

We aim to be able to split into a fast and slow group for as many rides as possible, understand our limitation is that we don’t always have 2 ride leaders available for each ride.

Remember to check out the Vernon ATV Trail Riders Facebook Group to meet up with other riders so you can get out on more rides with like-minded riders.

King Eddy Ride – Sunday April 26

King Eddy Ride Sunday April 26, 2026

9:15am Safety Meeting – 9:30am Ride Starts!

The first King Eddy ride of the year so it will be interesting to see how much snow (if any) is still hanging around the high elevation trails.

The ride starts at 9:30am so be ready for the 9:15 safety meeting before we head out. The staging area for King Eddy is where the road meets the highway.

The ride will be up to intermediate level difficulty and speeds will range from slow trail speed up to 60 kmh on FSR where safe to do so.

Bring a lunch, the plan will be to have a campfire at lunchtime. A single tank of fuel should be sufficient but bring more fuel if going 100 km on a tank causes you fuel anxiety.

You don’t need to be a club member to attend. Come for a ride to see if you like the club and meet other riders!

First Aid Course & 2026 AGM

Amadew from Medi-Pro First Aid Training instructed another great first aid course customized specifically for ATV riders. Everyone had a great time and learned some new tricks to help keep us all safe on the trails.

After the first aid course the group strolled across to Justice Park for a quick AGM and election of directors for 2026-2027. Board positions will be posted after next week’s director meeting.

Congrats to the City of Vernon for the crappiest “Free Parking on Weekends” signage at their lot on 29th St. This tiny text isn’t visible unless you’re in a parking spot (this photo is taken standing one step back from the sign) and these signs are all placed around the outside of the lot so the tiny text isn’t visible while driving.

Noble Canyon Ride

10:00am Start Saturday April 4

A shorter ride (3-4 hours) to hit the Noble Canyon trails and still let you do some yardwork or other honey-do-list items in the afternoon.

Ride starts at 10:00am, reminder that ATVs aren’t allowed on the paved portion of the road between the highway and cattleguard. Unload at the cattleguard then park your vehicle along the paved portion of the road and please don’t park in the cul-de-sac so trailers can turn around there.

There is still snow on the trails so come prepared for winter riding, a single tank of fuel will be sufficient, expect intermediate difficulty due to snow on the trails.

You don’t need to be a member to attend, check out the club and meet other riders.

Friday the 13th Movie Night

5:30pm Friday March 13 @ Eagle Industries

Friday the 13th is a great excuse to get up to some fun so we’re inviting everyone to come for some food, banter and a movie.

The club will provide the food/drink and the movie, you just need to bring a camp or lawn chair and let us know via email by 5pm Wednesday March 11 so we know how many to plan for.

Doors open and food available at 5:30pm, the movie starts at 7:00pm

First Aid Course & AGM

Practical First Aid Course for ATV Riders followed by Vernon ATV Club Annual General Meeting

10am to 3pm Saturday April 11

ATV First Aid Course from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday April 11, AGM from 2:00-3:00pm.

The first aid course is for members only and is first come, first served with limited spots available. This is not a certificate course, it’s an information course with no test at the end.

The course instructor grew up with ATVs/dirt bikes and uses that experience to tailor the course to the types of injuries you may encounter ATVing and in the backcountry.

Send an email to info@vernonatvclub.ca to register. The course is open to club members (join to attend if you’re not a member) and there are a limited number of spaces available so don’t delay.

AGM – 2:00pm
The Club’s Annual General Meeting will follow the first aid course, food and drinks provided by the club. Our library booking is from 10:00am to 2:00pm, our plan is to hold the AGM at Justice Park across from the library at 2:00pm.

Please contact us if you plan to attend the AGM so we can keep you informed if the AGM location changes due to bad weather.

Who is 4WDABC?

Four Wheel Drive Association of BC

We’re introducing an amazing organization for our street legal off-roading cousins, meet our friends at The Four Wheel Drive Association of BC (4WDABC). You’ve probably seen their stickers on Jeeps and all manner of 4WD vehicles, let’s find out more about this hard working crew.

As “Stewards of British Columbia’s Backyard” since 1977, 4WDABC puts a positive foot forward for motorized recreation by hosting cleanups, training new wheelers to off-road safely and responsibly, maintaining fire towers, shelters and recreation sites, through advocacy for off-road 4WD use across the province, and so much more.

To see what 4WDABC stands for you should check out their website and facebook page and in the Okanagan check out the Okanagan Region Facebook Group.

Wheelers of Tomorrow is a youth initiative to educate future off-roaders by exposing children to the outdoors to meet other kids, play games, etc.

If you want to geek out on 4WDABC:

We all know there is strength in numbers, for only $30 you can be a member of 4WDABC to show how many people support the work of important organizations like 4WDABC!

A photo of just a portion of the trash collected by volunteers at the Mother of All Trail Cleanups June 2022

A bunch of members of 4WDABC came from across the province to the Mother of All Trail Cleanups held by Vernon ATV Club, Okanagan Forest Task Force and 4WDABC June 3-5, 2022 where over over 4 tons of trash and recyclable material was pulled out of the forest.
