Fly Hills ATV Ride

Saturday October 15 – 9:30am SHARP

The Fly Hills has an amazing trail network that connects with other areas we ride. Come out for a fun day exploring the area before winter sets in.

The ride will start at 9:30am sharp from the Salmon Arm Snowblazers Fly Hills Parking Lot

The ride will be intermediate difficulty, covering approximately 80-100kms on FSR and trails. Riders will need to be able to travel 50-60kmh on FSR sections and there will be a few moderately technical sections.

The weather can change quickly at this elevation so come prepared for all conditions.

Bring a lunch and all the things you need to make it through a day of riding. There are a few recreation sites and outhouses passed during the day for rest stops.

All participants will be required to sign the ATVBC waiver to join the ride.

Vernon ATV Club and events are open to everyone, we encourage new riders to come out for a couple of rides to meet club members, find new trails and get a sense of the club before joining.

Silver Star Work Party, BBQ & Ride

9:00am Sunday October 16

Starting with a safety meeting at 9:00am sharp at the Vernon Snowmobile Association snowmobile parking lot in Silver Star Provincial Park, there is a morning work party to stack firewood and clean up around the old chalet site, a lunch BBQ then a guided ride of the snowmobile/ATV trails in the Trinity Ricardo area.

RSVP my email to [email protected] by 5:00pm Friday October 14 if attending so we have food for everyone.

WORK – The morning work party will consist of piling firewood that was previously in the snowmobile chalet as well as raking up small wood pieces left from the demolition of the chalet. Please bring a rake or shovel to help with the cleanup.

RIDE – The ride is a beginner level ride with a handful of rain ruts and mud puddles that are near intermediate level difficulty. A single tank of fuel will be ample for the day, remember to pack clothes for all conditions as Silver Star is at 1700+ metres elevation and the weather can change fast.

There are 3 outhouses along the ride route, we expect to be done and back at the snowmobile parking lot by 4:00pm at the latest.

Directions: The turnoff to Silver Star Provincial Park is 18.5kms from the Butcher Boys intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Silver Star Rd, turn left onto Sovereign Lake Road, drive 2km then turn right and follow the road to the upper snowmobile parking lot where you can unload your ATV.
