The Hunt for White December Ride

Join us Sunday morning at Noble Canyon Road as we look for the snow. Ride will depart at 10:30am sharp(ish), dress warm and dry, bring your camera, lunch, fire starter, etc. as we’ll stop for a campfire lunch along the way. Aiming to be back down around 2:30pm.

The Hunt for the Perfect Tree

There will be a Christmas tree hunt on Sunday, November 22, at King Eddie launch. Meet at unloading area at 10:00 then off to bag a tree. Bring a lunch, we will have a fire, and dress warm.

After capturing the tree, it will be decorated at the club house. Everyone please come and enjoy setting up and decorating.  Chili and buns will be served for supper at 5:00. Please RSVP by November 19th to info@vernonatvclub.ca if you are coming for supper.

Snow Day Ride – 10:00am Sunday, November 15

Leaving from the bottom of King Eddy Road at 10:00am on Sunday, November 15, going to explore and see how much snow is in the mountains. Could be hard going, so dress warm and in layers, in case pushing is involved.

This will be a slow, exploring style ride, will multiple stops and lots of chat

Bring a roasting lunch and fixins as we’ll have a campfire. Be prepared for all weather, forecast is for 60% chance of snow, or rain, or both.

Saturday Evening Ride

7:00pm Saturday, September 26 – King Eddy Road

It’s almost full moon (more details below) so there should be plenty of light from above but we also have been talking about evening/night rides so it’s time to try it out. Dress warm and come prepared for riding in the dark.

We will depart from the bottom of King Eddy Road at 7:00pm Saturday, September 26 and will be back at the bottom approximately 9:30pm. This will be a leisurely ride on the usual trails from the bottom of King Eddy, not very fast as night riding ads a new element of difficulty.

Vernon ATV Club rides responsibly access Forest Service Roads and Crown Lands. All participants are reminded of their obligation to comply with the Off-Road Vehicle Act (Bill 13).

NOT RELATED TO THE RIDE, JUST FYI:
Supermoon is Sunday night at approximately 8:00pm our time, it is also a lunar eclipse, so a Supermoon Lunar Eclipse or “blood moon”. It is the first time in 30 years that the supermoon (full moon at its closest point of its earth orbit) and eclipse happen at the same time, the next will be in 2029. 

Labour Day Ride

Leaving from the bottom of King Eddy Road at 10:00am on Monday, September 7, this ride will take us down past Beaver Lake and Postill Lake. This is a longer ride so we won’t be back until 4-5:00pm.

Campfires are allowed again so bring your lunch fixins as we’ll have a campfire. Be prepared for all weather, forecast is for 40% chance of rain (as of Friday).

Longest Day of the Year Ride and BBQ

4:00pm BBQ, 6:30pm Ride, Saturday, June 20
Back for another year, this popular event starts with a BBQ at 940 Pottery Road at 4:00pm then heads to King Eddy Road for an evening ride while enjoying the late night sun, wrapping up at the bottom around 9:30pm. There may even be a night ride after the main ride ends if you’re a keener!

We need to know by 7:00pm Friday, June 19 if you’re coming to the BBQ, email bbq@vernonatvclub.ca with your name and number of people.

Ladies Only Ride – 1:00pm Sunday June 14 at King Eddy

Sorry fellas, this ride is just for the ladies. Starting at 1:00pm at the bottom of King Eddy Forest Service Road in Coldstream with a planned return to the bottom for 4:00pm. The ride speed and trails we ride will be decided by the ladies in attendance. We’d like to do a couple ladies only rides this year, so come out and meet other riders and provide your ideas for future rides.

Update – a great ride, 6 ladies in 3 side by sides and 1 atv went for a 3 1/2 hour ride at King Eddy. Check the club’s facebook page for photos and videos.

Early Ride – 9:00am Sunday, June 7 at Noble Canyon

Come out early for a ride starting at 9:00am at the bottom of Noble Canyon Road in Lavington. We’ll explore trails around Bardolph Lake and Coldstream Creek Forest Service Road. Back down by 1:00pm so you can be home to enjoy your Sunday afternoon.

Come prepared for all kinds of weather (may be hot, may be rainy?), we’ll stop for a campfire so bring your lunch and camera.

This will be a slow to moderate pace ride, but we only go as fast as the slowest rider so come out and enjoy.
